Captain Mike Hoffman is a native of Wilmington, NC. He has been fishing the waters around Wrightsville Beach, Topsail Beach, and Carolina Beach his whole life and has been a full-time fisherman since 1987.

He spent eleven years fishing in the Pro Bass Tour, winning numerous awards. He earned his captain's license in 1998 and his Master Captain's license in 2008.
